TESTING 50£ NOTE

The printing of Banknotes is done on a special quality paper so that it gives the note a unique quality. On the front side of the note if we move our finger across we will be able to feel the print which is being raised in some areas like ‘Bank of England’.

This note is known to be the first one in the England where two Britons James Watt & Matthew Boulton are featured. Chris Salmon signed the new series of F 50£ notes. Initially this note featuring Sir John Houblon was circulated in tandem in the old-style.

        1. Check the quality of the paper and the raised print

As mentioned earlier the note is printed on the good quality paper along with raised print on it.

        2. Check the Metallic Thread

Every Banknote is embedded along with a metallic thread. By holding the note up to the light, we will be able to see the metallic thread as a continuous dark line.

    3.  Check the Water mark

By holding the note up to the light we will be able to see the dark line as well as the image of the Queens together with a pound symbol and 50 in brightness.

   4. Check the Print Quality

There are no smudges or blurred edges either on the lines printed or colours on the new-style 50£ note, they are sharp and clear.

5. Check Micro lettering

If we observe closely beneath the note by using a magnifying glass we can see that value of the note written in small numbers and letters.

   6. Check the ultra violet feature

Under a good quality ultra-violet on the front side of the note we will be able to see the number 50 in bright red and green colour, five windows of motion thread. In addition to that we can also see the green flecks on both front and back side of the note where as remaining portion of the note will appear dull in contrast.

    7. Check the Motion thread

The motion thread is woven into paper on the note. It has pound symbol and the number of 50 images on it, if the note is being tilted from side to side the images appear moving up and down. In the same way if the note is being tilted up and down the images appears to move side to side where as the number 50 and the symbol switches.

8. Check the see-through register

Lastly, again by holding it to the light we can see the irregular shapes are printed in colour both on front and back side of the note combined to form the pound symbol.

s                So by following the above steps we will be able to test 50£ note whether its real or fake.
