TESTER

 {ENEMY for a  Software COMPANY}

Testers consider a bug as their friend. Hence Testers become bug friendly.
Other than Testing Team, people consider the bug as their enemy.
Result: Causes the Tester as their enemies.

If any Software Tester identifies defect in the build product, then they file the bug in bug tracking tool.
Bug Count Increases
Result: Testers become enemy for the Developers.

Testers have the power to Stop/Postpone Production Release.
Hence at that situation, Testers will become a major enemy for everyone not only from the development team.

Infact, software development is a complex activity that requires a group of individuals working effectively as a team.

How to be a good tester?
It is the first question that every tester has. How to be a good tester? Apart from the technical knowledge, testing skills, tester should have some personal level skills which will help them to build a good rapport in the testing team.

Be honest and Responsive:
Tell developers what are  your plans to attack their application.

Be open and available:
If any dev ask you to have a look at the application developed by him before the release, then politely give feedback on it and report any extra efforts needed. Don’t log the bug’s for these notes.

Let them review your tests:
If you have designed or wrote some test cases from the requirement specifications then just show them those test cases. Let them know your stuff as you are going to critic on developers work!

Don’t take it personally:
Do the job of messenger. You could be a close target always. So build a thick skin!

Be prepared:
Be prepared for everything, worst  things might not happened  till now, but  they  can  happen  at   any moment in your career. So be ready to face them.

When a virtually flawless application is delivered to a customer, no one says how well tested it was. Development teams will always get the credit. However, if it is delivered with bugs, everyone will wonder who tested it! - - Dave Whalen

(This conversation is to illustrate how the testers and developers are)

Customer: Hey, boy, there is defect in this trouser which i purchased a day back. There is a cross stitching at bottom of the trouser.

Salesmen: How can that be defect? No one will notify that there is a cross stitching (Not proper) in your trouser. Anyway, return it and take a new one after two days.

After 2 days,

Salesmen: Here is your new one, take it.

After another 2 days,

Customer: I found the same defect in this trouser also, but my friend who bought in factory outlet does not have any defect.

Salesmen: Bring your friend trouser sir, we can verify it here.

After another 2 days,
